A combination of income and lump sum benefits for the children
A child being diagnosed with a serious illness is every parent’s biggest fear and the emotional and financial impact can be devastating to a family. How would a parent afford being able to take time off work, or pay for the ongoing monthly expenses and additional medical expenses not covered by medical aid?
That’s why, at FMI, your clients can cover their children through our Critical Illness solution.
With FMI, all your clients’ children are automatically covered for 10% of their Critical Illness Lump Sum cover amount up to R250 000.
Clients can also select our Child Protector Benefit, which pays up to R15 000 per month.
Your client will be paid a monthly income if their child is diagnosed with a condition defined in our Juvenile Critical Illness table, or if they’re diagnosed with an illness that has a 100% payout in our Critical Illness table for the CI Lump Sum benefit.
Each child can be covered for 50% of your client’s after-tax income, up to R15 000 per month.
Critical Illness payments are made for up to 24 months, but these may continue beyond this period if the child meets the Childhood Disability Definition.
*Payments would stop if the child passes away or turns 18.
